Moody Gardens Galveston
This top Galveston venue includes many interactive museums and attractions that everybody will love! The activities that we most recommend are the aquarium, the indoor rainforest, the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat, and the Ropes and Zip-line Course. For the kiddos we recommend hitting the Spongebob Adventure and the seasonal activities such as the ice village!
Galveston Pleasure Pier
From scenic views and fried oreos to stomach dropping coasters, you are sure to have a blast at Galveston Pleasure Pier! The boardwalk boasts 16 rides, a 5D theatre adventure, and many midway games where you gan “step right up” and take a chance to win! Buy an all-day or a family all-day ride pass to get on the coasters as much as you want!
1892 Bishop's Palace
Also known as the Gresham House and a National Historic Landmark, Bishop’s Palace is a must for architectural buffs! This Victorian beauty is located in the East End of Galveston’s Historic District. Architectural historians even list the “Palace” as one of the most significant of Victorian residences in the country!
Moody Gardens Golf Course
If you are an avid golfer or just like to shoot a round once in a while, then you must go to the first-class Moody Gardens Golf Course to hit some balls and enjoy breathtaking seaside views. The golf course also offers a clubhouse patio, delicious food, and a golf gear shop to stock up on all your golfing needs!
The park offers one of the island’s most popular fishing piers, picnic sites, a playground and the Galveston Naval Museum. The park on Pelican Island holds the USS Seawolf from WWII and other WWII submarines!
Schlitterbahn is a great place to cool off from the brutal Texas heat! There are three speed slides, four tube slides, three kids’ activity areas, a surfing wave, and much more! With over 30 attractions, you will be sure to find an adventure for all ages. The park even has the capability of being an indoor waterpark, so you are welcome to go during the winter months as well!
Port Bolivar Ferry
This free attraction will make the round trip from Galveston Island to Port Bolivar. It offers views of the Gulf and at sometimes even dolphins! The ferry carries about 8 million travelers and operates 25 hours a day, 365 days a year! Though you can take your car on the ferry, we don’t recommend it because wait times for cars are enormous!
Galveston Railroad Museum
Visitors can enjoy permanent exhibits and learn about one of the world’s most important transportation systems. The museum also hosts events throughout the year like the THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride, which allows passengers to relive the magic of the classic Christmas story as they are taken away for a majestic trip to meet Santa!

The 1877 ELISSA welcomes visitors from all over the world at the Texas Seaport Museum.
